Im a newcastle private hire driver who lives in cramlington and i was disgusted last saturday when i finished my shift at around 4am at the moor farm roundabout there was a lady standing crying trying to flag down taxis so being concerned i pulled over she was going to blyth with her being so distressed i decided to take her i asked why she was crying she told me she got into a newcastle hackney carriage on grey st and asked the driver if £25 would get her to blyth he said it would and dropped her off there if the driver had no intention on taking her to her door why take her in the first place its just a case of absolute greed the lady was by herself in her 50s she says she goes out every saturday and has always managed to get home for £25 pound i told her next time make sure you get the plate number and just for the record i never charged she only went 5 mins up the road hope who ever it was reads this just makes you think how some people actually get badges these days
