thats how the blue line propergander machine works,

and just how is this going to work, blt drivers takes this and hoys it in his glove box or pulls it off when he goes awol in town. is ian going to check ALL 600 cars (i know that cause polish guy gives us all the facts and figures) and ensure that it’s stuck to the dashboard? and 2 weeks time to ensure its still there?

this is nothing more than ian, trying to fool us all into thinking that he is on our side, and try to get us all to dance to his tune. sorry i just dont buy it.

could i just also say, IF there is no problem with flimping and newcastle hack drivers arnt that crazy that where even too much for the mad hatter, then why has ian gone and done this, point of newcastle hack drivers proven.

@Andy Warhol, all cars are in for an “inspection” tomorrow morning, so no doubt the management will be out sticking this some where in our cars.

im done with this site, everyone knows different and everyone is right, when only a few people know the real facts, i dont know the facts or claim to but i do see some people with very big chips on shoulders and some very angry people too, being angry never solved a problem but it does cause heart attacks, so calm down angry people and quietly but firmly push your LA for action.

good luck with the site admin, hope all goes well with it

best wishes to all drivers,

BLT driver and proud of it

Well the way i see it is that no operator has control over what a driver does on the streets,and cannot be held accountable for a drivers actions i.e flimping or taking a persons number for a return job.
So whats wrong with Blueline doing the best they can to keep their own house in order and at the same time educate the public against jumping in any thing that turns up?Its a shame other operators cant do a bit self enforcement as well,instead of the job getting radioed in and put in the book so to speak!
Lastly,what gets me is there is so much venom thrown against blueline by certain hack drivers in newcastle and yet they use blueline themselves when they need a taxi???hmmm.

I wonder why Mr Shanks is bothering to change his door stickers to this design. He is perfectly correct in what the stickers are trying to advertise,namely the insurance being void if the booking is not rung into the office rather than on a drivers mobile,BUT how many people are going to be bothered to look and read,or when they`re drunk,can in fact read them.
Alternatively,if a driver is given a job by the office,and then accepts a return on that job,which he gives HIS number for,or just does the job as his own….is that not `stealling fellow drivers work`.
It IS in NODA,any returns must be booked into the office,or ask the passenger to ring the office when ready.
As far as im aware,p/h cars cannot accept bookings over a mobile phone,all jobs must first go through central base/control before dispatch.

@john dodds,

well before christmas i rang BLT for a price the ediburgh airport, the desk clerk gave me a couple of quotes, as there was 4 large lads with cases they thought they would need a 6 seater, the clerk recomended they got an estate car, now i asked could they pick them back up, ‘arrange that with the driver’ is was told.

hey smudger, i always give blt work, in fact ian should pay me commission, yes anytime someone has ‘had an accident’ or ‘too much to drink’, i always oblige in giving them the norths budget taxi firms number …

@john dodds, its the same a Blue Line, all jobs must be given out via the data, but TBH the size of Blue Lines area its not worth your while saying you’d do the return job because its sod’s law you be miles away and have to drive past good work to cover it

@john dodds,

I am still waiting for you to take up the offer to a visit to our operation and see what you thing is a 10 x 4 office !!

you and andy warhol should take that visit as you spout of so much about us and our operations and know absolutely sod all !

so before you two wobble your gums about blue line this and blue line that visit us and see for yourself you talk cr-p.

if the pair of you would only be a little positive about things rather than constantly having a go at others for a least attempting to do things or improve things !!

what has the pair of you two done ? other than spout of at others ?

the notices are not there for drunks to attempt to read but maybe the sensible ones in cars behind ours in traffic etc.

the pair of you are whats wrong with the trade negative short sightedness that want the world to come to you !!

@Ian Shanks,

hello ian,

firstly, when person’s such as BLT and proud and polish BLT driver, and others, come on here announcing that BLT is so great, and we get details from how much we could earn there a day to how many bricks are holding up the roof, are we not allowed to make a comment? All we can do is give OUR hounest opinion.

ian, it might be that you really lie awake at night worrying that one of your drivers has illegally picked up and are comming up with ideas to try and stop this. But, in all hounesty, your not doing this for the hackney trades benefit are you?

i believe, a while back i suggested that councils make it complusory for PH cars to display a message like this, so does this mean that you will also be throwing your weight behind another idea, maybe designated pick up points for all NON newcastle hacks in newcastle city centre?

@Andy Warhol,

what i do know is, i dig into my own pockets for such notices and i spend money on things i feel are right for the trade as well as things for myself and my business !! Can You say that ??

while a lot of you just sit and criticize and do sod all but wobble your gums !!! action speaks louder than words so when you have fought the fight and done something then criticize. but leave others alone because they put their money where their mouth is to attempt to improve or change things, and just because it doesnt suit you, you then through a hissy fit

its easy to sit there having go at others rather than doing something isn’t it.

the answer to your question about doing it for the hacks ! well when have the hacks ever done anything for me ??? not that i want or would do anything deliberately to hurt the hackney trade but i sure ain’t going to finance sorting your troubles unless it works for me as well.!!

@ian shanks,

i didnt relise that this was all about money?

when I attend UITA meetings or protests is this not at my expense? it may not be kkkk’s but it’s still and expense to me.

tell me ian, what was the benefit to the trade spending YOUR money on the out of town brigade? Or shipping over EU trained taxi drivers?

maybe ian, just maybe, if the OUT OF TOWN BRIGADE and PRIVATE HIRE stopped illegally picking up, i might just be able to afford a little extra £££ ‘fight the cause’

and i quote you here ian:

“the answer to your question about doing it for the hacks ! well when have the hacks ever done anything for me ??? not that i want or would do anything deliberately to hurt the hackney trade but i sure ain’t going to finance sorting your troubles unless it works for me as well.!!”

well ian, that just sums up your letter to the council with regards to parking restrictions in the city centre, some ones a tad worried about the implications of empty cars not being allowed to park up in the city centre eh ian?

Andy Warhol!
In the last 10 days and nights….. Last Saturday night a Bankfoot PH flimped at the BP Garage in Shiremoor, A Lansdowne Berwick Mobile attempted to nick my booking from Flares on Thursday night, a NODA PH blatantly flimped in Wallsend outside the Klub on Saturday night, a TJ Woodhead flimped at the Shell Garage, it had no plate on it.
It’s not just NT PH that are naughty is it??
Check out some of your own PH gang, they are no angels, if all you Lads are too focused on what BLT are up to, these lot will help themselves to your work while you are spying on a BLT!

hmmm , is that why i use the term NON Newcastle Hack as the flimping is covered by such a variety of cars in newcastle.

and if i ever refer to PH, or out of towners, i mean in general and not one particular firm, unless of course i specify.

or is this aimed at my response to ian’s post? am i not allowed to be a free thinker and reply to whichever posts i feel like on here? (unless of course admin bans me)

it seems to me that anyone who choses not to side with ian, is shot down as having some sort of personal vendetta against BLT, well thats not the case, ABC, Gateshead Central, Lansdowne, gateshead hacks are just some one the other main ‘culprits’ in newcastle, that I see.

but if i am hounest here, i personally feel that ian is a wolf in sheeps clothing, not only is this forum at times used as a BLT advertising machiene (to drivers and customers), but ian seems concerned to embroile himself in HACK BUSINESS and try to fool us that he cares, but his main objective is BLT (as admitted, and rightly so) . As JD said, leave hack business to hacks. If he is concerned about BLT not being able to park in the city whilst they wait for a job, then tell the counci that and dont try and fool us into thinking that its for the hacks, then expect a pat on the back. after all are we not capable of doing this for ourselves …

“but i sure ain’t going to finance sorting your troubles unless it works for me as well.!!”

i thought the berwick plates were all renewed up till the 31st march 2009?

so whats your nvq like? are you doing this voluntarily or through BLT?

it just seems a little odd if BLT put you through it when ian does not even care about a knowledge test.

Andy Warhol
With reference to your comment about Berwick Plates. I believe that the Bandits got a letter from Bandit Upon Tyne Borough Council…Ooops Berwick stating that if the Drivers can prove “Hardship”, their Licenses and invisible Plates will be renewed!!!
So the Boys from Berwick are just going to prove that they will be screwed if they lost their precious achievement, they will not tell the truth, that they have f&%ked the Newcastle and North Tyneside Drivers incomes and live happly ever after will they?, and yes Mr Warhol the NT and NC PH have been done by them as well!!!, so unfortunately for us, March means Jack S*&t to us, they will still be at large!!

@brian,
Hi Brian
This Site has been very calm this week, that is why I did’nt post what happened to me at 03.45am Sunday Morning.
I had a “No Job” in Town, it was from the closed Hancock Museum???, anyway the Office fired me a Job from Munchies in St Mary’s place, it was a 04.00am booking.
I arrived there, it was cluttered with Berwick Cars and one Toon Hack, as the Toon Doblo pulled away with a Customer, obviously a one Berwick Car flimped from Munchies of course, but that’;s another Story!, fearing that my booking would be nicked by a Berwick Car I tried to get in a Gap amongst them, I did with the back end of my Car sticking out, four Berwick Cars present outside, three from Data dispatch Offices, guess what, all three AURIGA Dataheads switched off, anyway knock, knock on my Window, it was a Police Officer, Hey mate you are nearly double Parked said the Officer”, I said sorry, just waiting for my booking, well he said. “pull accross the Road and wait at the Bus Shelter or que behind these TAXIS?, I said to the Copper, Officer these Lads are flimping, how do you know he replied?, I said three of them work at a Data dispatch Office and they are supposed to get their Bookings through the little black Machine on there Dashboard, however that is switched off!, the Officer replied, you Lads work off Radios, I said these Guys don’t!, he said it’s “Traffic and Councils responsibility”, so anyway FOUR Berwick Cars flimped by 04.05am from Munchies within 10 yards of two Bobbies, now that scenario was also witnessed by three other PH’s and a Toon hack, all who were disgusted.
So unfortunately Brian some Berwick Lads do feel the need to Flimp, like the three that did from Chase on Friday night, the forth one that attempted was chased off by a Toon Hack, you see us Coastal based Drivers make our Money at Weekends by doing Set Fares back to the Coast, we often drive from Tynemouth, Whitley Bay and Shields to find our Jobs have been nicked by Berwick Hacks, you can’t blame the Toon Hacks because that is why the the Customer has booked a Set Fare because THEY feel that Toon Hacks are too pricey!
After Friday and Saturday I now understand why Andy Warhol (Toon Hack Driver)and his Geordie friends are so angry about Berwick Cars.
Regards
Stephen

I’d put money on you’re not. Stand up and do something other then moan about it to everyone that cant do a thing about it!

Credit were Credit is due good Idea Mr shanks.
But were will the sticker be placed and how big because if it is inside the vehicle the punters will probably not notice it.
I think that all private hire vehicles should have a similar sticker on both front door issued by their LA with the LA’s name and the plate number of the vehicle clearly stated on it so that all passenger know the issue of insurance and also know the area in which the vehicle is plated.

@Andy Warhol, with all due respect it seems like the implications of empty cars parked up may affect the hacks not parked on ranks as well? This new law is going to be testing whether you are ph or hackney and god help us all if they start sending parking control out at night as they will be running up the fines like clockwork!
If they really clamp down every one of us will be hit in the pocket.
Ph will have to drive around the block hoping his fare is waiting and hack will have to drive round and round in circles all night looking for an available space on the rank all night long possibly,especially through the week!
