@SC, actually you would be surprised at the number of us(hacks) that did protest to the council over the increase last september,that as i said should never have gone ahead.
Thanks to 1 or 2 multi plate holders,who were more intent on justifying high bits for their cars,that the increase of 7.5% went on.
The council i`m sure would have their arguement too for the increase.
I agree our fares are too high,BUT,if you can persuade the council to drop them,be our guestand alot of us would back you.There is however a difference between a reasonable rate and an absurd rate,taking into account maintenance,fuel,running costs and what have you.If you charge people the bus fare for a taxi to town,of course people will take advantage.Joe Public`s attitude is if your daft enough to charge 40p a mile,then joe public will pay you that.Its down to you estimation of what your worth.
Fares as low as some are charging tell people that either your on benefits or your a cowboy out for a quick buck. Proffesional people are paid as such.
