A man convicted of raping a girl who got into his car thinking it was a taxi has been jailed for six years.
Sean Moynihan, 24, took the 16-year-old to a secluded spot in Paisley in April last year and forced her to have sex.
The High Court in Glasgow heard how the teenager had been under the influence of alcohol at the time.
Moynihan was ordered to be supervised for three years on release. Five months was also added to his sentence for the separate charge of possessing a knife.
Passing sentence, Judge John Beckett QC told Moynihan: “The complainer was in a vulnerable position. She had fallen when you encountered her.
“You did not induce her to think that you were a taxi driver, but for her own reason, she thought that you were.
“You took advantage of her vulnerability and raped her.”
Moynihan was also placed on the sex offenders register indefinitely.
