I didnt ring northumberland,i rang north tyneside and they are adopting the policy that newcastle have.
operator, driver and vehicle all to be licenced by the same authority! Bye! Bye! Berwick,Durham,Tynedale and any other authority you flimpers may go to.

But isnt there some of these old berwick plated vehicles working for newcastle firms allready? and as ian shanks stated a few weeks ago he himself is opening an office in newcastle ,will the ex berwick/northumberland just no go to work there?maybe there time is limited there also . i have noticed an old berwick plated driver now has a gateshead hack plate on his vehicle (had the get rid of his tinted windows too)

@hacking jacket, as i understand it,when a operators licence comes up for renewal,in ether newcastle or north tyneside,it will not be renewed if operator, vehicle and drivers are not all licenced by the same authority.it will probably still go on for some time whilst legal avenues are explored but at least it’s costing them money to do this….

Berwick enforcement were out in whitley bay last night (bit late in the day) with NT officers. They seemed quite vigorous, stopping and speaking to many drivers.I asked one of them “are these berwick cars meant to be gone by now” the answer was “YES” wierd cos they are still here!

@jason,Do you think for a minute this will solve all the flimping enhance our game were in by taking all out of town plated cars off the road, it will only benefit the councils because by taking my plate of me the morrow wont take me off the road i will only plate my car up with nt or newcastle I also stress the majority are like me who have got licences with other councils. It is the restrictions what councils put in place which have kept me driving with an out of town plate and i know it is about opinions but its not the plate it is the driver your own ph drivers within your own borough flimp like a hack who cherry picks or cuts you up overtakes you to bump you.You can go on and on… what ever happens it wont take me and many others out of the game am still goner be a taxi driver unfortunately like the vast majority of out a town plated taxi drivers, will it really make a difference, not one bit of difference except the revenue for the coucils who have had it boxed for years.

@jason, i wasnt replying to you personally sorry jason it was because you were at the bottom of the comments and i just replyed on you.Its not that i believe its the right thing by driving an out of town plate but it was for me the easy option and its only human nature to do that. There might not be a need to cap if North tyneside follow suit and to another blueline driver what about several other plated cars s tyneside, gateshead, durham, nothumberland bv,northumberland cm,ect ect or i and newcastle.

@jason, I wasnt replying to you personally sorry jason it was because you were at the bottom of the comments and i just replyed on you thats all.Its not that i agree with out of town plates it just was an easier option at the time for me and its only human nature to do that.I think if north tyneside follow suit it would stem out of town plates like blueline you have several out of town plates working for the office styneneside, gateshead, durham, northumberland bv,northumberland cm ect ect or i and newcastle lol.

@pdb, no probs..but the berwick thing applies to all out of town cars because both nt and newcastle have made new policies whereby operators licence, driver badge & vehicle all have to be issued by the same authority, this is why blt now have a newcastle operators licence and almost 150 berwick drivers have gone back to nt.NT were going to raise all our fees by almost 80%, theres a list on this site somewhere, but newton now says the rises won’t be quite so big now due to the extra revenue due to returning berwick drivers. My main beef was that because of the amount of drivers who left nt the rest of us were going to foot the bill.

@jason, I have up most sympathy if that is true which angers me more in effect that councils have come so reliable on the revenue.Have they not had enough out of us.In the time I have done taxi driving there is rules this and that, services, mots, spot checks enforcement in which most of the time speak down on you which totally does my head in.I do agree in the terms of keeping the public safe in which they carry out their duties to do but i cant help but think it is mostly to show that the council is deemed to be doing something to the public eye we do deserve more as taxi drivers who most of us give a good quality service day in day and day out to make ends meat in one respect i havent had the bullying antics since i have had an out of town plate.I get offered a cupper when i have my car tested lol unfortunately i cant help but think i will be held to bow in the not too distant future…..you can tell ive got a chip on my shoulder lol all the best to all….no more comments coming off me!

@pdb.I said i wasnt going to pass any more comment but if there loss is so true and you have to pay the deficit Im sorry. I dont buy it thou, they cant pull the wool over my eyes any more, there making money still, without any shadow of doubt, the economic down term the taxi game is swamped. It will always generate money with hack and ph badges mots services repairs ect its massive revenue I suspect what I think will probably happen thou is the money coming in off the taxi business will be going to other services rather than being pumped back into the taxi business i might be totally wrong.
