Taxi driver ‘attacked and robbed’ in Bridgwater

A Taxi driver was attacked and robbed after picking up a fare in Bridgwater, police revealed today.

The taxi driver collected two men from St Mary Street on Saturday, July 3 at about 11.15pm and drove them to Purley Drive.

Detectives say the driver was assaulted when they arrived before he was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton where he was treated for head injuries.

The driver’s mobile phone and satellite navigation system were also stolen.

Police would now like to speak to two men who they believe may be able to help with their enquiries.

The first man is described as white, in his early 20s and wore a grey hooded style top.

The second man was in his early 20s with a grey striped hooded style top.
