Tyneside Taxi firms involved in name row

A NAMING row has broken out between two rival South Tyneside taxi companies.

Ray Hunter, who owns Marsden and Cleadon Taxis, in Fulwell Avenue, Marsden, and Alan Ashton, who owns Express Taxis, based in Jarrow, both claim to have the rights to use the name Marsden Taxis.

Express Taxis has posted business cards through letter boxes that say “Marsden Taxis, now part of Express Taxis”.

Mr Hunter said the Jarrow-based firm is “out of order” for claiming to have bought his business and is losing trade because of the move.
