VIOLENCE and aggression against taxi drivers remains all too commonplace.

There seems to be an attitude among some people, especially after nights out, that it is acceptable to behave in an anti-social and, at times, criminal way against cabbies.

It is one such incident, dating back nearly three months, that we would like your help with this week.

At about 11.20pm on Sunday, May 30, a man got into a taxi on North Road in Kirkheaton.
Before leaving, the driver told the passenger what the fare would be.

The man said he would not pay the amount being asked for and was told to get out of the vehicle.

After stepping out of the cab, the man started punching and kicking the car, causing damage to the mirror, door and windscreen.

The taxi driver contacted the police, and we want to find the man who is suspected of criminal damage.

A mobile phone was later found on the front seat of the taxi.

The picture of the couple in the photograph was attached to the back of the phone.

They had been passengers in the taxi that night and we believe they may be able to help us with our enquiries.

If you recognise them, or know anything about the incident, contact Pc Angela Lister via 0845 6060606 or Crimestoppers, in confidence, on 0800 555111.
