(AGI) Rome – There were no taxis waiting for passengers this morning at Rome’s Leonardo da Vinci airport. Taxi drivers are continuing their action against the draft law on deregulation.
Piazza del Plebiscito in the centre of Naples, which used to be a parking lot for buses until it was ‘liberated’ and declared a pedestrian zone in 1993, was packed with hundreds of taxis for the second night, parked in front of Palazzo del Governo. In Rome, protesters threw things at the few taxis still working.
In one case, they tore off a cab’s licence plate.
