North Tyneside Council Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy
North Tyneside Council is reviewing and updating the Council’s existing policies in relation to hackney carriage and private hire licensing to produce a new comprehensive Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy. An integral part of the process is public consultation and the draft policy is offered for public consultation between 20 June and 18 September 2008.
The Policy will provide guidance on the approach that the Council will take on hackney carriage and private hire licensing matters and will guide licensing decisions.
This draft Hackney Carriage and Private Hire Licensing Policy has been prepared taking into account current policies however once adopted this policy will replace all existing policies.
The Policy document can be downloaded from the link below or can be obtained by contacting the Licensing Section on (0191) 219 2151. Responses must be made in writing and received by 5pm 12 September 2008 to the address below. A response form has been prepared for your convenience and can be used to collate your consultation responses.

205 Hacks, 38 of which are members in this new association and counting after only a few weeks, anyone wishing to join up email us on the ‘Get Involved’ Link on the Home page or ask anyone who has the http://www.TooManyTaxis.co.uk stickers on the back of their car. The more the merrier, as you can see looking at this site anyone can get involved even if you don’t join you are free to comment on this site, even when you are extracting the proverbial urine.
