The Forum of Hackney Carriage Trade representatives met with the Leader of the Council; John Shipley and other senior members of the Licensing Department for a follow up meeting on 30th March 2009.The Forum were given further opportunities to express the views and concerns of the Trade, and again moods were bolstered by the Council’s approach to dialogue and capacity building.

The Forum specifically discussed the progress of enforcement activity since the previous meeting and both parties provided significant amounts of material to substantiate the points made. The Trade welcomed the information provided by the Council and it was agreed that further meetings would take place to gain general consensus on specific issues. It was suggested that bi monthly meetings would be held and an interest was expressed in securing the dates of these meeting up until 2010, the Trade welcomed this commitment by the Council and it remains optimistic that concerns are being given due regard and that action will follow.

excellent work, and well done to all those involved.

regular meetings is whats required, talking to the trade, with the trade informing them of any problems which might endager the public, or prevent the hounest hard working memebers of the trade from making a living.

and if this has been promised in front of councillor shipley, they wont be able to lie again.

maybe this will silence the doubters on here, as when a councillor arranges secound meetings and arranges for regular meetings with licencing, then there is clearly, as we all knew, a problem.
