As from Monday 1st June 2009, McAlpines sub contractor will be carrying out repaving works on the west side of Clayton Street, next to Café Nero. The top half of the taxi rank, i.e. the half closest to Newgate Street will not be available. However the other half, i.e. the lower half closest to Duke of Northumberland / Nun Street will still be available for use. Works on this section are anticipated to take 1 week then the subcontractor will swap over and carry out the other section of works the following week.
Could you please advise all members of your organisation of the proposed works and advise that if further taxi rank space is needed then the off side lane of Newgate Street outside the now redundant hotel should be utilised.
