Two Private Hire drivers have been fined in separate hearings by North Shields Magistrates.
In February of this year North Tyneside Council carried out a series of ‘Mystery Shopper’ stings
Aimed at both Hackney Carriages and Private Hire.
Each driver was fined £100, £150 costs and a £15 victim surcharge. Both drivers plead guilty to the charges.

The first driver, a 36 year old male, was approached as he sat on Whitley bay metro station Hackney Carriage Rank and was subsequently hired to
Take the Mystery Shoppers to the Magnesia Bank Public house in North Shields.

The second, a 43 year old male, was approached in Tynemouth Front Street and agreed to a hiring to take two passengers to an address in Whitley Bay.

These were not the only drivers caught during these Mystery Shopper exercises. They are merely the first to come before the courts.

NT Hack Driver,

I would agree with you when it is a busy night, but not at the moment, as so quiet everywhere, but could I just appeal to all North Tyneside Hackney Carriage Taxi Drivers about the Bus Stop at the Gibralter Rock.

When waiting patiently in the queue in Tynemouth, that we use as a Feeder Rank, can you make sure you keep the Bus Stop Clear for the Northumbria Bus Service 306, as we have been asked to Facilitate this request, but many Part-Time Drivers, who do not give a SHIT about our Trade, breach the WORKING ARRANGEMENT we have with NEXUS that allows us to have the Feeder Rank Facility, REMEMBER ABUSE IT & WE LOOSE IT! Pass it on when working & think about how you conduct yourself please Drivers!

Thanks Drivers for helping with this Request!

Central Private Hire Driver,

ha ha ha,

The Law is the Law, but when North Tyneside Council force you to travel back to Central`s Office, with its Off-street Parking Facilities, when you do not have another Hiring to go on to, then Central will be closed-down to the Number of Parking Facilities at its Office that are Off-Street for all the Section 48, Private Hire Vehicles, that can be Lawfully Operated, as the LAW is the LAW!!!!

ha ha ha

Thanks
