A taxi driver chased after a robber and made him hand back his stolen takings after being robbed at knifepoint in his cab in Luton.

Police said a passenger got in to the taxi in Wraysbury Close on the morning of 7 October. He forced the driver to hand over cash before walking away.

The driver ran after the man, who handed the money back and fled.

The offender is described as Asian, about 20, of average build, about 5ft 6in (1.67m), with short black hair.

He was wearing jeans and a black jacket.

Bedfordshire Police, which has just released details of the incident, said officers hope people who had been getting ready to leave for work in the Wraysbury Close area at about 0640 BST would come forward with information.
