This is the shocking moment a taxi driver was captured on camera driving the wrong way up a motorway.
Cars were forced to swerve out of the way as Robert Thompson, 59, drove for three miles down the fast lane of the M6.
Police were alerted by CCTV on the M6 Toll road near Sutton Coldfield in the West Midlands and raced to the scene in a bid to prevent a fatal collision.
