The Joys of Taxiing, The job’s bad enough in these trying times of global economic crisis, fears of deregulation on the lips of everyone you talk to and then there’s council ‘Jobsworths’ , who come in various guises, one of which is the ‘Traffic Warden’ or Council Enforcement officer to be be politically correct.
30 plus taxis trying to make a living on a 6 car temporary rank, whilst the never ending work on the metro station goes on and on and on…, and this fine example of a ‘Jobsworth’ comes along and gives two taxis a ticket each for…wait for it…..being parked on a ‘Taxi Rank’ I kid you not! It’s written on their tickets “reason for issue of fixed penalty notice: ‘Parked on a Taxi Rank’ ” and before anyone says it, both drivers were with their cars. WHAT? Wanker!!!

Notice Newton and his cronies will be out at the weekends now with christmas coming up “OVERTIME”
Maybe, the Drivers should be members of the North Tyneside Taxi Association, but oops, that is right £35 a year is not worth it Drivers keep saying, until they want help with a problem, then their friends, who are normally not members either, come out with B******t saying the Association should help these people out. Amazing, but the Association has an Agreement with the Council for its members, just one of the benefits for your £35 fee.
Contact Secretary Bob Snedden on;

if interested in paying £35 (current fee 2011) for advice and being part of the Official Hackney Carriage Taxi Body with North Tyneside Council, since the Metropolitan Borough of North Tyneside Council was formed in 1975.
Not defending the Warden here, but his head camera records all the time does it not?
I was a member of the so called association untill as a member i asked for support in updateing my taxi from a metro cab to a brand new eurocab and was told by the council i couldnt put one on when i asked for support of the above secrtary of the assosiation i was told that they would not help me and it was blueline and eastcost and cab direct that helped me win the case and get my new car plated !
And now you have sold up,you sound like a PH wannabe Hack,profiteer to me mate. I don’t for one minute believe you were turned away by the association without good cause!! I have been a member for over 18 years and they have never failed me in all that time and I happen to know that they have fought recently for NON MEMBERS regarding parking tickets and won!

I think you will find it was the Secretary, not Chairman, but that aside at the time the situation was this North Tyneside Council has a Policy in place that stated the Hackney Carriage Taxi Vehicle had to be PCO Approved, Public Carriage Office for those wondering what PCO ment, and the North Tyneside Licensing Department had not complied with the the Current at that time Council Policy. The view of the Association was that sliding doors were unsafe for people getting in and out, because if the door onto the roadside was opened without the passenger paying attention and looking, then they could step straight out into on coming traffic, Health and Safety issue, which Cab Direct actually agreed with our Secretary view, therefore designed a roof box for the rear of the vehicle saying “DOORS OPENING” with arrows pointing down to both sides as a warning to approaching traffic to be aware of the pretential danger. The only shit stirring the people you mentioned did was alerting Cab Direct who did at first protest most strongly, but later when speaking to the Secretary about his concerns, thanked him for his Safety Advice which then resulted in a trip to the Factory in Scotland to see the process of the vehicle build. The Association will always object to Health and Safety matters, no matter what a person studying a Degree may think!!!! But when stating a story please report all the facts of the case mentioned.
Thanks
